Half-Day Guided Surf Lesson in Byron Bay

This half-day surf lesson is a straightforward way to get in the water around Byron Bay with guidance from experienced instructors. Lessons run in a group setting, with beaches selected across the Byron, Lennox and Ballina area based on the day’s conditions so you get safer, more manageable waves. All surfing equipment is supplied, and the school keeps group sizes relatively small, which matters if you want more feedback and more time actually learning rather than just waiting around.

You’ll join a guided group lesson and be kitted out with the surf equipment you need. The team chooses from a number of beaches in the wider Byron area depending on where conditions are best on the day, aiming for waves that are both fun and safe to learn on. Adult groups run with a 1:7 instructor-to-surfer ratio, which helps keep things more hands-on. The lesson is suited to a wide range of fitness levels, and the minimum age is 13.
