Newtown Street Art and Food Tour

This guided walk through Newtown mixes two of the suburb’s biggest drawcards: street art and multicultural food. You’ll get an introduction to the area’s mural scene, stop for tastings at four different restaurants, and wrap up with a shared craft beer paddle at a local brewery. It’s a good pick if you want more than a standard food tour, with enough to sample a range of flavours without it being a huge sit-down feast.

The tour starts on King Street at the "I Have A Dream" mural, where your host gives an intro to Newtown’s food culture and street art scene. From there, you’ll walk through the neighbourhood, stopping at four venues to try different cuisines, which may include Egyptian, Turkish, Mexican and Australian. Between tastings, your guide points out notable works and introduces some of Australia’s well-known street artists and their styles. The tour finishes at a popular brewery with a shared tasting paddle, and you’ll also get photos from the tour plus a take-home map of restaurant recommendations. Vegetarian, vegan and other dietary requirements can be catered for if advised in advance.
