What to expect
You’ll start early for the balloon flight, with pickup in a private vehicle from your accommodation. Once airborne, you’ll drift above the rainforest-covered hills of the Atherton Tablelands around sunrise, with plenty of chances for wide landscape photos. After landing, there’s a light post-flight celebration with a drink and your flight certificate. From there, you’ll be transferred to Marlin Marina for the next part of the morning: a 35-minute jet boat ride on Trinity Inlet, with fast turns, slides and commentary from the captain about Cairns and the surrounding region. After the jet boat ride, you’ll need to make your own way back to your accommodation. Wear long pants and closed-in shoes, bring a jacket for the early start, and don’t bring large bags as backpacks and handbags can’t be taken on the balloon.

- Please note that the timings might be adjusted due to seasonal changes, and the specific schedule is subject to the reservation confirmation you received.
- It is recommended that you wear long pants and closed in shoes - no heels, slippers or skirts please.
- Bring a jacket as it gets quite cool as the sun rises and please avoid white clothes.
- If your flight time is from April to October (in winter), you need to wear warm clothes to prevent the cold; in other months, there will be warm airflow due to the burning of hot air balloons, so you do not need to wear warm clothes.
- Following the Jet Boat ride, please make your own way back to your accommodation.
- Carry hats and sunglasses, and a fully charged camera for taking pictures.
