This full-day guided tour is a straightforward way to see a lot of K'gari in one hit without sorting out your own transport, ferry or park access. It covers many of the island's best-known spots, including Central Station, Wanggoolba Creek, Lake McKenzie, Eli Creek, 75 Mile Beach and the Maheno shipwreck. Return ferry transfers, national park fees, fuel levies and travel by air-conditioned 4WD coach are included, along with hotel pickup and drop-off.

You get a solid cross-section of the island in a single day, which suits travellers passing through Hervey Bay or Rainbow Beach. It is a long day and not the cheapest option, but the all-inclusive setup and wide coverage can make it good value if you want a hassle-free day trip.

What to expect

The day starts with pickup before heading over by passenger ferry to K'gari. Once on the island, you'll travel by 4WD coach with a local guide between major natural highlights across beach, creek, lake and rainforest landscapes. Expect stops at places like Lake McKenzie for time around the water, Eli Creek, the Maheno shipwreck and the long stretch of 75 Mile Beach, as well as inland sites including Central Station and Wanggoolba Creek. Pickup times begin roughly two hours before tour departure, and you'll need to confirm your pickup at least 48 hours ahead. There are separate departure options depending on whether you're staying in Hervey Bay or Rainbow Beach.

This tour has separate departure locations depending on whether you are staying in Hervey Bay or Rainbow Beach. Please make sure you book the correct departure location. If you are staying in Hervey Bay, select pick up from Buccaneer Drive. If you are staying in Rainbow Beach, select pick up from Rainbow Beach Road.
The commencement of hotel pickups is approximately 2 hours prior to the departure time of the tour, you must make telephone contact with the local service provider to book the pickup and verify the exactness of your pickup time, this must be done at least 48hrs prior to the departure.
