Electric Fat Bike Tour in Kangaroo Island

This guided electric fat bike tour is a more active way to see a wilder side of Kangaroo Island. You’ll ride through bushland and along riverbanks, look out for koalas in old gum trees, and hear about local flora, fauna and native bush foods from your guide. The electric assist helps on hills and softer terrain, so you can cover more ground than on a standard bike while still getting a decent ride in. It’s a good pick if you want something outdoorsy and a bit different, rather than a standard sightseeing trip.

The tour starts in Vivonne Bay, so you’ll need to make your own way there. It’s about a 90-minute drive from the Penneshaw ferry terminal, and there’s no shuttle service, taxis or Ubers on the island. Once you’re kitted out with a helmet and gloves, your guide takes you through parts of the landscape that are harder to access by car. Expect a mix of riverbank riding, wildlife spotting and stops for photos, before finishing with a cruise through the sand dunes at Little Sahara.
