Why backpackers love it

It makes sense if you’re short on time and want to see the big Hobart-area attractions without organising separate day trips. Having transport, entry fees and CBD-area pickup sorted keeps planning simple, especially if you’re not driving. The mix is broad as well: wildlife, viewpoints, history, market time and Bruny Island scenery in one booking. At this price, it’s not a shoestring option, but it can work out well if you want a convenient way to pack a lot into two days.

What to expect

Over two days, you’ll travel by air-conditioned minibus with a guide, visiting a mix of city sights, natural lookouts and well-known day-trip spots. Around Hobart, the itinerary includes Mt Wellington at 1272m above the city, with Rosny Lookout or Mt Nelson used instead if weather closes in. You’ll also visit Richmond, known for its convict history, and Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary to see native animals including kangaroos, Tasmanian devils, wombats and koalas. The Bruny Island day focuses on scenery, local produce and access to major sights, with the required parks pass included for Cape Bruny Lighthouse. If you’re travelling on a Saturday, Salamanca Market is also part of the tour.
