Carnac Island Half Day Sail

This half-day catamaran trip to Carnac Island is a good pick if you want a more polished morning on the water rather than a big, crowded cruise. You’ll head out to the island’s shallow turquoise water, with the crew sharing information about the resident Australian sea lions before time for water activities. Snorkelling gear is included, and kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are available when conditions allow. After boarding, you’ll sail out to Carnac Island, an A-grade nature reserve and known haul-out spot for Australian sea lions. Once anchored, the focus is on getting in the water, with time to swim, snorkel or head out by kayak or SUP if the wind is suitable. If easterly winds are up, the western side of the island can offer especially good snorkelling, with limestone cliffs dropping into a sheltered anchorage. On the way back, the sails are raised for a quieter wind-powered return. Arrive at least 15 minutes early, as late arrivals who miss boarding lose their ticket. Public transport is available nearby.
