Dingos 3-Day K'gari 4WD Tag-Along Tour

This is a three-day tag-along 4WD trip around K'gari, departing from Rainbow Beach. You’ll follow an experienced lead guide while taking turns driving on the beach and sandy inland tracks, so it’s more hands-on than a standard bus tour. The trip covers the island’s well-known natural highlights, including lakes, creeks and rainforest, with two nights at a permanent beachside campsite. It suits travellers who want the social side of a backpacker tour but also want to be part of the driving and day-to-day adventure.

You’ll start with 4WD driver training on the beach before heading over by ferry to K'gari. From there, the tour travels in convoy behind a lead vehicle, with the guide handling navigation and helping keep the group safe while you visit key spots across the island. Expect a mix of beach driving, sandy tracks and stops at natural sites along the way. At night, you’ll stay in twin-share permanent tents at a dingo-proof beachside campsite with toilets and showers. Camping gear, fuel, permits and ferry transfers are included, and the camp kitchens have solar power for charging devices.
